Summer Vacation! for the weekend

the weekend is so close i can almost taste the coronas...
off to spend a weekend (hopefully) in the sun completely shut out from civilization for 2 1/2 days.

when i return monday to work hopefully i will be sportin a new tan and magically my job will feel rewarding and with purpose (it works that way, right?)

Otherwise I am channeling my inner student and pretending that its summer vacation.

This weekend is going to be busy for me. I have a graduation party and a family/housewarming party to attend...and well I have decided to debut my summer wardobe (which incidentally I have yet to purchase). But I did find some photos of the look I have decided to go for...marc by marc jacobs, of course.






Since it has been all june gloom here in cali, I was nervous of how to incorporate my love of shorts with cold weather (well, maybe not 'cold' for everyone but for me personally below 70 is cold) but have no fear m.j. find the solution! kitschy sweaters with shorts! I love it and the combo mixed with a-line skirts totally work appropriate--which I love because more of my hours are spent with people seeing me in work clothes than any other.

Perks of a receptionist

One of the few perks of working in the front desk closest to the conference rooms is the every so often i recieve an invite to partake in any of the left over food from the now finished meeting.

Today it is lasagne with breadsticks...add that with the cookies that a local bakery dropped off (to introduce themselves as a potential vendor) and Voila! an instant meal which adds a little more substance than the balance bar that I nibbled on for lunch.

3.1 Phillip Lim 2010 Resort Collection

Love love the embroidered crop top with skirt. Amazing work friendly clothes (mind you my legs do not look like a model's so I always assume that it would be at least 2-3inches longer on me).

I realize everyone and their mother has talked about the Alexander Wang 2010 Resort collection but it is amazing!!! These are the looks I believe I could pull-off for work (may need to add a cardigan here or there) and thus my work wardrobe inspiration!

**These two are my favorite!!! That white skirt with denim shirt especially!
