In regards to the celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, etc. in no way is it necessary to celebrate with cupcakes the size of Whoppers.  This is simply leading obesity in the work place and I think it should stop.

No worker can resist a cupcake at 3 in the afternoon when will power is at its weakest.  It is just rude, and wrong to put us through such torture.  

Especially when something so delicious is served without coffee.
